Honey Creek Headlines
Saturday, June 20, the second Honey Creek Open Show of the season was held. Riders from as far away as Sterling, Ne. enjoyed a great day in the show pen, despite the constant rains earlier in the week. Our 100 x 200 indoor arena means no show is ever cancelled! And everyone enjoyed delicious taco salads, hot dogs, & nachos in our air-conditioned concession & viewing area. Our judge, Beth Werkheiser of Omaha, NE did a great job making the ribbon decisions and giving helpful advice to riders on how to improve. Kenzie Meyer, 5 years old, was a first time show-rider of the day and therefore received the Special Award Ribbon. Another Special Award Ribbon went to the oldest rider of the day, Hillary Wiltz. High Point Youth Rider in the 10-13 Division was Blake Popkess and winning High Point in the 14-18 was Casey Zagaro. A big thank-you to Valley Vet Supply of Marysville, KS for the High Point Awards! Walk/trot classes in all events were helpful for the new riders and/or new horses to the show pen. Those classes will again be offered in August. Top Youth Rider and Top 19 & Over Awards will again be given in August. If you want to come the night before, call us about stalls.

Ed McClintock is at HCA every Tuesday. To make an appointment for your horse call 402-855-2106 (barn) or 402-855-3135 (house). Your horse may be dropped off in the morning and picked up in the evening, or overnight boarding is available.
